Ref. MB130225 - The Montblanc Masters of Art Homage to Gustav Klimt Limited Edition 4810 captures the very blue tone of the work of art. The circles, swirls, triangles, and lines that emanate from the transparent dark blue lacquer of the writing instrument are taken from his famous painting "The Kiss," in which two lovers dissolve into ornamental geometric forms through the power of emotion. The cap and barrel of the writing instrument, made of translucent blue lacquer and yellow-gold-plated hammered metal, feature additional colors. Gustav Klimt used a new technique to complement his colors with areas of gold leaf, creating the impression of precious stones set in gold. In the Limited Edition 4810, the yellow-gold-plated hammered cone is set with a synthetic green spinel, whose color is reminiscent of spring, when all life begins anew. Gustav Klimt's Secession monogram, a gold-colored pad print of his initials GK, references his achievements for the Vienna Secession. The clip of the Homage to Gustav Klimt Limited Edition 4810 was specially designed and commemorates Gustav Klimt's "Pallas Athena." The handcrafted nib, made of solid 750 yellow gold, is adorned with a fine engraving of an owl, the faithful companion of the Greek goddess Athena and a symbol of knowledge, wisdom, and insight. The engraving references not only Gustav Klimt's painting "Pallas Athena," but also the Vienna Secession building, whose side facades are decorated with owl sculptures.
