Ref. MG-000854 - After the exact time, the current day is one of the most frequently requested pieces of information. Thus, the date display ranks right after the hour, minute, and second displays, yet it is a relatively recent development in the long history of precision watchmaking. The first wristwatch with a pointer date was introduced at the beginning of the 20th century. Grossmann watchmakers also take their cues from this classic display, yet pursue their own unique approach: their jumping date display is remarkably simple to operate.
In the DATE, the date display with a full scale and a distinctively designed date hand emphasizes the precise functionality of the model line. The DATE Caliber 100.3 is based on the Caliber 100.1, whose essential components were retained. To integrate the jumping date mechanism on the dial side of the movement, some components were redesigned. On the outside of the case, the additional setting crown at 10 o'clock draws attention to this complication.
